Dec 12, 2025: Three Days ago the CEO of OpenAI, Sam Altman, issued a "Red Alert" warning that ChatGPT was in danger of losing the AI Race to being out-competed by Google's Gemini.
Since the AI Race and the Popping of the AI Bubble are such hot topics right now, I figured I would take the opportunity to analyze the astrology of each of the major players.
ChatGPT was launched in 2022, during a time when Saturn was well dignified in Aquarius. Because Saturn is associated with the Hard Limits of Scientific Laws, it's possible that the era of Masking, Social Distancing, and Protective Barriers in general seeped over into the realm of AI with ChatGPT feeling the weight of responsibility on it's shoulders to make it's product as safe as possible with Protective Gaurd Rails. It could be possible as Saturn moves away from this place of dignity, into signs like Aries where it struggles under the more Warm and Youthful energies of a Yang-Mars sign, that the Guardrails of Saturn in Aquarius eventually give way to Juvenile Adolescence of it's incarnation in under the hands of Elon Musk and Grok AI. With ChatGPT's chart, this is before Pluto's Entry into Aquarius, so ChatGPT was launched timing up with the Pluto Return of the USA. America has Pluto at 27° Capricorn, which is only 1° off from the 26° of Pluto in Capricorn.
ChatGPT of course is an experimental technology that has a huge impact in the Automation of certain tasks. There is of course a lot of hype around whether or not AI is going to replace whole industries, personally I am skeptical about this... however if you listen to people like Elon Musk, maybe he is so out of touch from all the ketamine he has been doing, but these Tech-Bro Elites really think that ChatGPT style LLMs will be able to replace human "content creation", by artificially generating podcasts, tv-shows etc. Even if we defend our creative industries from AI encroachment, there are certain tasks which these Chatbot LLMs have managed to excel at, specifically if you need someone to help you write a Resume or a cover letter, or handle some of the social labour of writing corporate administrative emails. To the extent that whole industries could be disrupted and put out of work by AI, it makes sense that the advent of ChatGPT aligns so closely with America's Pluto Return.
On December 6, 2023, Google announced Gemini, On February 8, 2024, a mobile app launched on Android and the service integrated into the Google app on iOS. On Android, users who downloaded the app saw Gemini replace Assistant as their device's default virtual assistant, though Assistant remained a standalone service. I am choosing to use this this rollout of Gemini as the default AI used on the Android, to mark the "birth time" of Google Gemini, rather than the December 2023 date which was simply just an announcement.
From an Astrological Perspective, what stands out about the Google Gemini Chart is that in this chart Pluto has ingressed into Aquarius, so rather than aligning with America's Pluto Return, Gemini is more aligned with the Dawn of the Pluto in Aquarius Era. If we look to the position where America's Capricorn Pluto is located, we find an Exalted Mars at 26° Capricorn, with Venus close by at 20° Capricorn. Both of these planets are in a Trine to Uranus at 19° Taurus. The difference is primarily that ChatGPT has a better dignified Saturn, where as ChatGPT has the better dignified Mars, and with this Mars closely aligned with America's Pluto Return, and the Pluto of ChatGPT, what we have here is a competitive advantage indicated at Mars where it is Exalted by it's placement in the Third Decan of Capricorn, positioned to dominate over the competetion in the Post-Pluto-Return Landscape of Corporate America.
Chat GPT's Chart Features Jupiter in Pisces, so both Jupiter and Saturn are Well dignified in Chat GPT's Chart, but they are "not seeing each other". In contrast, in the Google Gemini Chart Jupiter at 09° Taurus is making a near-perfect sextile to Saturn at 07° Pisces. Saturn and Pisces of course rule over these Grand Shifts at the level of Governments, Kindgoms, Civilizations, Empires.
It is likely that the people at Google Gemini were not thinking of Astrology when planning the release of the platform, because curiously for using the name Gemini, it features no Gemini placements at all.
In contrast, ChatGPT has Mars in Gemini. in a direct opposition to Venus in Sagittarius, with Neptune in Pisces making a T-Square to Both of these. Neptune of course is related to Fantasy, Idealism, and often lofty dreams and over-exagerated potentials. If you see Hard Aspects to Neptune in chart, it may be wise to heed the warning "Don't believe the hype">
With Google Gemini's Chart, there are at least Soft Aspects, Mars in Cap sextile Neptune in Pisces, overall more harmonious with Uranus in Taurus as well. In Chat GPT's Chart, Uranus in Taurus is conjunct the North Node, suggesting a certain Hype or Inflation around the disrutive or innovative potentials of AI. Personally I consider the North Node to be Malefic, something that inflates or creates an exagerated demand or hunger.
With Google in Gemini not having any Gemini Placements, but strong Earth Sign Trines between Capricorn and Taurus, maybe we can understand that the Strength Google has is the intergration of Gemini into it's Phones, Where Google Android has come to Dominate the Smartphone Marketplace. (In Contrast Apple has apparently fallen behind and their old AI platform Siri is nowhere close to being able to compete with the new LLMs of Gemini and Chat GPT).
What is curious about all of this, is that it highlights Uranus in Taurus (currently retrograde back into this sign as I write this) and all the Earth Sign Dynamics rather than the Future Innovations of Uranus in Gemini.
Because Gemini uses a Zodiac Sign for it's namesake, but has no Gemini Placements... what does this mean for the coming Transits of Uranus in Gemini trining Pluto in Aquarius?
It's also important to remember that when we talk about a specific topic like AI, it's not just one Planet or Sign that "rules" over AI, but rather we can see how each planets themes may be relevant to the topic in it's own way:
Uranus: the initial shock, disruption, "novelty value" of the new experience
Neptune: playing into someone's fantasies by promising them an idealized AI girlfriend, AI induced Religious Psychosis with "Awakened AIs", Confusion of Reality vs Simulation, AI controversy around counselling people into suicide.
Pluto: AI used as propaghanda, AI not as Chatbots but the hidden power dynamics and hidden manipulation tactics of the algorithms itself. Similarities between Algorithmic "recommendation" systems and Schizophrenic "Gangstalking" delusions... Is AI being used to psychologically manipulate people? or push vulnerable people who are open to suggestion with questionable triggering content? Are Deepfakes being used to decieve and manipulate vulnerable people into scams?
The fact that Uranus is in Taurus, and there is this overall focus on the Earth signs, signals the relevance of Mining and Rare Earth Minerals for securing the materials necessary for future data centers. There is also maybe a problem in that Computer parts tend to have a limited life, and tend wear down after extended use, or be made obsolete by new advances in technology. So there is some question of whether or not we are building permanent material infrastructure or simply putting all our eggs into one basket that is simply a soap-bubble, that may not even be useful or relevant in the future. What if we are pouring all this money into a bunch of hardware that will look like obsolete junk in a few years? This has been the pattern of technological accelleration so far, Today's hot novelty item is tomorrows forgotten trash or scrap heap item. Who is to say these AI Data centers will be any different?
